So, let me pose to you a situation you have either already been in or may soon find yourself in. Your living your life, going to your job and then going home to sit around on the couch. Then an add comes on Youtube, a brand new game is coming out for your console and it looks binge-worthy. With a wide sprawling that you can spend hours in alone and then there is hours more worth of content. You know you need to set up for a long weekend of playing this new game but don’t know how that’s where I come in.
First things first, there is an art to marathoning a video game. You are going to need food, snacks, drinks, and batteries. You are going to want to make sure that you have a comfortable place to sit and actually do your gaming. There is also some added equipment that you may want to pick up but I will get into that later.
When it comes to snacks that is a large supply of snacks to choose from out there but here are some of my favorites. Be forewarned most of the food item on this list won’t be health food, I chose these because they taste great for a gaming binge. These are
First, let us start off with one of the most basic snacks that many people associate with gaming, chips. For chips, I would recommend either Doritos Nacho Cheese Flavored Tortilla Chips, 1.75 Ounce (Pack of 64) or Ruffles BBQ Potato Chips
. Doritos for that soft cheer flavor that is a comfort food. The ruffles on the other hand I think are a great choice because they have a sharp bite. You can use any chips you want but for me, these are the two best choices when you are going to hunker down.
Next, let’s move onto both salty and sweet snack. My first suggestion is Ritz Bits Cheese Cracker Sandwiches, 8.8 Ounce (Pack of 12) for both a salty and cheesy that you don’t have to refrigerate. If you are in the mood for something a bit sweeter than I would recommend Welch’s Fruit Snacks, Mixed, 80 counts, 4.5 Pounds
. The last thing that you should stock up on is candies. My two favorites are Junior Mints, 1.84-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 24)
and Twizzlers Licorice Candy, Strawberry, 5 Pound
.
The drinks that you pick are vital as you will probably spend more time than drinking. The first thing you are going to want to pick up is water. It doesn’t have to be plain water either, you can use flavored water. My personal favorites are Propel Water Kiwi Strawberry Flavored Water With Electrolytes, Vitamins and No Sugar 16.9 Ounces (Pack of 12). From there we can get into sodas and juices. For juice I would recommend either Hawaiian Punch Fruit Juicy Red, 10 fl oz bottles, 6 count (Pack of 4)
or Capri Sun Juice Drink Blend, Fruit Punch, 10 Pouches (Pack of 4)
, both have great flavor. I remember being in the middle of a gaming marathon and I needed something to drink other than soda and juice really hits the spot. Speaking of soda, the sugary elixir is the prominent fuel for a gaming binge that keeps you going during that final boss level. For me, there are two sodas that score above the rest. The first is Dr Pepper Soda, 12 Ounce (24 Cans)
and the second is Coca-Cola Vanilla 20 oz (Pack of 24)
.
Next, let’s gather the excess materials so you could want for your session. The first is batteries, Amazon has great batteries that last a while and you can pick up a more for less,AmazonBasics AA Performance Alkaline Batteries (48 Count) – Packaging May Vary. I also recommend a nice neck pillow for support and comfort,Travelmate Memory Foam Neck Pillow, Dark Blue
. You could also use a nice back massager as your muscle will get sore if you sit for too long, Snailax Shiatsu Massage Cushion with Heat Massage Chair Pad Kneading Back Massager for Home Office Seat use SL-256
. Lastly, you should have either a great sound system or a great set of headphones. For a sound system I would recommend LG Electronics CM4550 700W 2.1 Channel Shelf System (2015 Model)
, and for a set of headphones I would recommend Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Wireless Surround Sound Gaming Headset for Xbox One
.
You can use any of these recommendations or none of them. I just thought that this would be a helpful list to anyone who would want to set up a gaming marathon. If you do want any of these suggestions if you could use the links from this page it would help the site.
